About Peters Construction
When Peters Construction moved to Carbondale from Boulder we knew it would be necessary to somehow gain a secure foothold in the local economy. Greg succeeded at this by obtaining contracts for multiple projects. Although each one was completed with no problems it was apparent that this was not really the direction we wished to go. We made it our goal to take on fewer projects at a time and use our own carpenters exclusively. From that time on we take only 2 or 3 projects per year. Staying small has enabled us to cut down on subcontractor numbers while letting our crew perform the most important parts of the projects. Peters crews perform the following on every job- excavation and site work, framing, exterior trim/window and door setting, ornamental and light structural steel fabrication, cabinet and appliance setting and the interior trim, stairways and built-ins.

Gregs dad endured the depression in wind blown Nebraska. As a member of the 'greatest generation' dad passed on to his son some traits which Greg utilizes every day. Chief among these is economy. Always shop hard, reuse it or improvise if you can save a little money and never, never waste anything. Brenda aptly fits the bill for a ‘hard shopper’. If she locates material further away but at a better price, she will add the shipping to make sure we can save even a few dollars. Greg and his crew are master improvisers. We can make riggings and devices to save a trip to the lumber yard which the average joe would never think of. Waste- is there anything worse in todays world?

On Peters Const jobs you will find cleanlieness, order and efficiency. Without these Peters Construction believes you will never get quality. Greg tells his crew and his subcontractors the same axiom- 'make sure your work is as good as or better than the guy who goes before you'. When presented in regular job site meetings, these few words work wonders to make each worker not only feel responsible for his own work but to also help his fellow worker meet the same standard. Greg will also tell you that if he is aware of a mistake on the job he will fix it. It will never be left as such.
